How Chue Style Ba Chop Feng Shui Improves Retail Performance
In this article, we share a real example of how Chue Feng Shui was applied to a supermarket in Southern Spain to improve retail performance, customer flow, staff productivity, and profitability using a precise method of consultation practice called; Chue Style Feng Shui Ba Chop.
What Is Chue Style Ba Chop Feng Shui?
Ba Chop translates as Eight Mansions, sometimes referred to as East House and West House Feng Shui. This form of Feng Shui assessment is applicable to retail properties, commercial premises, residential buildings, and public structures, and is carried out strictly within the Chue lineage, following a disciplined and traditional framework that differs significantly from popular interpretations of the Eight Mansions method. Within this Chue system, Ba Chop integrates:
-
The plot of land
-
The building itself
-
All entrances and exits
-
The surrounding external environment
-
Internal and external specific “star” calculations for the above aspects
Under the guidance of Grand Master Chan Kun Wah, this method has been updated to allow Chue Style consultants to gain a deeper understanding of how chi moves through a property and how it affects health, wealth, stability, and opportunity.
These advanced calculations can identify for this supermarket:
-
The most suitable positions for entrances and doors
-
Optimal locations for checkouts, fresh food, storage, and stock
-
Areas linked to financial loss, staff conflict, theft, or spoilage
Key Findings from the Supermarket Assessment
The Surrounding Environment
The supermarket was located within a large plot incorporating a customer car park. While the plot itself was relatively balanced and benefited from open views towards the Mediterranean, the building was positioned tightly into one corner of the land and misaligned with the plot’s orientation. This imbalance was reflected in operational and commercial challenges.
Car Park Calculations
In retail Feng Shui, the car park entrance is critical, as it determines how customers are drawn towards the shop. Using Chue Style Ba Chop calculations for the external environment and road positioning, several possible entry points were assessed. The South position emerged as the most compatible, carrying Health and Wealth chi, indicating strong potential to attract customers.
The Supermarket entrance
The main entrance was a large door located in a sector governed by Disaster chi for this building. This type of energy often manifests as persistent problems, disruption, and financial loss. The entrance was not supporting the business.
A full Ba Chop analysis was carried out, including the Tai Chi (central area)—a key indicator of a building’s overall wealth, health, and career potential—followed by a detailed assessment of each directional sector. Where areas were unfavourable, corrective measures were identified.
Linking the Carpark to the Store’s main entrance
A fundamental principle in Chue Style Feng Shui is ensuring that external chi connects smoothly with the internal space. In this case, the car park carried Metal chi, while the supermarket entrance was governed by Fire chi. In the Chinese Five Element relationship, Fire weakens Metal, indicating that beneficial incoming energy was being pushed away. This clearly explained the lack of customer comfort and footfall.
The Conclusion
The most urgent recommendation was to improve how chi entered the building. As relocating the existing entrance was not possible, the solution was to introduce a secondary door in the West area, as it was a more favorable sector, allowing a better balance to the overall energy of the store and plot. This created improved conditions for customer flow and business performance.
This article presents only a small part of a much deeper professional assessment. Further aspects of how Chue Style Ba Chop Feng Shui supports business success within this supermarket will be explored in future publications.
