Feng Shui analysis of a house with a missing terrace at the front
A beautiful house with a feminine side higher than the masculine side, which had resulted in a place where, throughout time, only women had lived.
The new owners wanted a child, but they were having difficulties conceiving a child.
During the consultation, I noticed that to the front there was no belly or terrace, the land sloped quickly towards the neighbours with no retention of qi.
A house that doesn't have a terrace or a plot of land to retain the qi will find it harder to support the occupants, as there's nothing to retain the energy needed to develop a family and bring prosperity.
It's a bit like mansions that always have a part to welcome guests, to retain energy at the front, to have a future that supports them.
The front also called Ming Tang, the Phoenix of a house, its future, its prosperity. If it's large, imagine the space the bird can use to fly away. It's also often a property’s first calling card, showing whether it's cramped or spacious, cluttered and dark or welcoming and bright.
Ming Tang is also the inside of your entrance to just beyond the door of your house. In our case, a flat Ming Tang means no belly on the front of the house.
With no terrace present and a pond that is poorly placed on the property, impacted on the man's energy, as the pond was placed in a "curse" location related to the orientation of the house.
Although there is a large area of land available, the terrace is limited to the beige square at the front of the house.
I suggested to the owners that they create a terrace to the front in a rounded shape to bring the belly into the house in the image of a pregnant woman.
In Feng Shui shape is important and can influence people's lives, in this case design.
Having made a selection of dates to help them conceive, they started work on the house, and it worked, the wife became pregnant.
However, at one point during the construction, the cost of the terrace exceeded their budget so they reverted to the original shape of the property, stopped creating this womb and by an unfortunate coincidence, there was a miscarriage.
During a site visit I suggested that by modifying the rounded shape of the terrace, they had possibly interfered with the energy link between the property and the pregnant wife.
After several discussions, they decided to recreate a more modest rounding, but one that provided the necessary qi.
The woman became pregnant again and gave birth to a child fulfilling her wishes.
