In early 2023, I was shocked to receive a notification from the Small Claims Tribunal of Hong Kong. It was related to a project taken up by my previous partnership business, which dissolved six years ago. The lady claimant demanded for about Euro 10,000 as the project was only half done.

At the point of closing down the business, my partner had promised to take on the responsibility for finishing the work with the lady client (the claimant). I had officially informed her about his sole responsibility for the provision of service upon the business closure. I received no reply from her, and my partner left Hong Kong shortly afterwards.

I asked the I-Ching if I could win the case. The I-Ching reading says that I was in a very strong position in the lawsuit, however, I must gather all the supporting documents and evidence. I was lucky that the date assigned to go to the call-over hearing in the Tribunal Court supports me. The day branch is my Heavenly Official Guardian Angel (天官貴人), thus someone will help me especially in dealing with the government. All the stems have their own Eastern Guardian Angels (天乙貴人).

The date went smoothly as predicted by the I-Ching. It was told that the lady claimant has a weak case against me. To the best interests of both parties, we were highly recommended not to proceed in the court but to resolve the case between ourselves. The claimant was frustrated. I proactively made an offer to her to finish the project free of charge. The case was adjourned.

My teacher, Susanna Senior Master Lau, then selected an auspicious date for me to send a follow up email to the lady claimant in early March. She promptly responded positively on my offer.

As per the i-Ching reading, I had to capture the supportive fire energy. I must, therefore, complete all the work by the end of June 2023 as suggested by Grand Master Chan.

It was a happy ending with a win-win result. The lady claimant was very grateful for my work. She closed the legal case on 27th June 2023, upon the launching of her project.
