Importance of form
“Part of the uniqueness of Chue Style Feng Shui is our knowledge of ‘Form’. Most of the other Feng Shui masters do not know or understand ‘form’. Form can tell you so much about the property, the environment and the energy.”
This article relates to a consultation with Grand Master Chan at a large estate in Scotland. The owners were a couple who had bought the property several years ago. The male owner had recently been looking for Feng Shui advice, as he felt uncomfortable with the financial situation and he was uncertain about their future.
The project consisted of a main house with over 20 rooms and a few cottages. The main house was established over 100 years ago. It had the Northwest totally missing and the Tai Chi position partly missing.
Grand Master Chan pointed out to the male owner that the Northwest missing would adversely affect him. The consequence could be that he would always be away from home. Or, he could have some health issue leading to his absence from the house. The owner was worried and asked if it also meant that he could die earlier than his wife. ‘Yes’, Grand Master Chan replied. The owner then revealed that, amongst the previous owners, there were at least 4 widows and the male leader always died early before getting old.
Prior to appointing Grand Master Chan, the male owner had asked a Chinese Feng Shui master from America to do the consultation. The Feng Shui report showed the ignorance of her ‘form and energy’ knowledge. For instance, it commented on the nice mountain dragon that connected and benefited his house and that there were no problems (!!!) with the Feng Shui. The report also showed incorrect calculations of the fate, site and facing.
Our Chue Style is probably the only authentic feng shui school who focuses on form and chi, in addition to the compass calculations.
Understanding the ‘Form’ is the most important skill that a good Feng Shui master should possess. Not knowing the ‘form’ means not understanding the ‘energy’. The form can also give guidance to identify the correct site and facing, to construct the right shape of building, to get the right energy into the property and to determine the best business for the building, etc. Consultations relying on calculations alone will limit one’s ability to give efficient and effective Feng Shui advice.
